Scholarship Information

The Pi Sigma Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. established this scholarship award to 1) provide financial assistance to a young woman in the greater-Cincinnati, OH area who is advancing her education, and 2) to honor the memory of our Triumphant Soror Erica J. Holloman.

Soror Holloman is a native of Cincinnati, OH, and a graduate of Walnut Hills High School. She earned two Bachelor’s Degrees and a Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati, AND earned a 2nd Master’s degree from the University of Dayton. She was pursuing her Doctoral Degree at the University of Louisville when she lost her 3rd battle with breast cancer. Erica deeply valued educational achievement and was committed to supporting college students. Her powerful legacy lives on through this scholarship.

Pi Sigma Zeta will be awarding one general funds scholarship to a graduating high school senior in the greater-Cincinnati area who will be matriculating at an accredited four-year university during the 2026-2027 academic year. The eligibility criteria and application requirements can be found below.

General Funds Scholarship eligibility criteria and application details are as follows:
-The applicant must be a woman and a graduating high-school senior in the greater-Cincinnati, OH area during the 2025-2026 academic year.
-The applicant must have been accepted to and plan to attend an accredited four-year university during the 2026-2027 academic year (proof of enrollment will be required before any funds can be dispersed).
-The applicant must have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (an unofficial transcript is needed to apply, but if selected, you will be expected to provide an official copy).
-The applicant must complete this online application by the application deadline AND
-The applicant must have two (2) letters of recommendation sent to PSZ2ndVicePresident@gmail.com from the recommenders by the application deadline.

Please note:
1. All materials must be submitted and/or emailed by 11:59pm on April 3rd, 2026. If any of the application materials are not received, your application will be incomplete and ineligible for consideration.

2. The young woman selected for this scholarship will be expected to attend our scholarship recognition event, which will take place in the spring.  

3. Individuals who are either related to a member of the Pi Sigma Zeta chapter and/or are members of the PSZ Archonette club are ineligible to apply for this award.

*The Pi Sigma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., reserves the right to use the scholarship recipient’s name, likeness, and information for sorority publicity & in the advertising of this scholarship. Use of the recipient’s name will be communicated to the recipient before advertising.
